What is the early sing and symptoms of breast cancer?

What is the early sing and symptoms of BREAST CANCER?

Definition:-  When cells of the breast begin to grow out of control , these cells usually form a tumor that can often seen on x-ray or felt as lump.  The tumor is malignant if the cell can spread in to surrounding tissue or spread to distal organ of body.

First you should know the anatomy of breast as seen on image below.

As you know our motto of this blog is to understand in easy way so I don’t make this blog boring as other have lots of information and lots of pages, charts etc. etc.  about breast cancer. I make it in simple way to understand.

In India we have now increasing numbers of patient of breast cancer day by day especially in younger age group. The reason behind this increasing breast cancer patient is lack of awareness. In rural area there is more number of case of breast cancer than urban because of lack of information regarding the cancer. As you know in rural area patient come when there is any symptoms they find or any abnormal changes occur in breast than they consult the physician (stage 2 or 3)

So lack of awareness of breast cancer that’s leads to increase number of breast cancer in young women. In this blog you can help to other women to aware about breast cancer and how to self-examination of breast or to detect about any abnormalities found in breast

What are the risk Factor for breast cancer ?

Age: - The risk for breast cancer is increase with age. Most breast cancer are diagnose after 50 years of age

Genetics: - women who have inherited changes are more likely to develop breast cancer and ovarian cancer.

Early menstrual period: - women who start their period before the age of 12 are exposed to hormone longer, raising the risk of breast cancer in small amount.

Late or no pregnancy: - having the 1st pregnancy after the age of 30 and never having full term pregnancy have more chance to devolve breast cancer.

Starting  menopause after age 55: - Like starting menses early, being exposed to oestrogen hormone for longer time in life also raises the risk of breast cancer.

Not being physically active: - women are not physically active have higher risk of breast cancer.

Being overweight: - older women who are higher weight or obese are more risk devolving breast cancer than a normal weight.

Tacking contraceptive pills: - certain forms of contraceptive pills have been found to raise breast cancer risk.

Family history of breast cancer: - the risk of breast cancer is higher if her mother sister or daughter has history of breast cancer.

Drinking alcohol: - studies show  that the women’s breast cancer are increase if she take more alcohol regularly.

Now we discuss about how to self examine or to detect any abnormalities in breast

There are five step

Step 1: - Begin by looking at your breast in mirror with your shoulders up straights and your arm on your hips.
Now look closely for breast that is the usual size shape and colour. Breast is evenly shape without any distortion or swelling.

If you see any of the following changes consult your physician
1.     Dimpling, puckering, or bulging of skin
2.     A nipple that has change position or inverted nipple
3.     Redness, soreness, rash and swelling

Step 2: - Now raise your arm and look for the shame changes

Step 3: - While you’re at mirror, look for any sing of fluid coming out of nipple.

Step 4: - Next, feel your breast while lying down, using your right hand to feel your left breast and than feel your right breast with help of left hand. Use firm, smooth touch with the 1st few fingers pads of your hands, keeping fingers flat and together. Use circular motion, about the size of quarter.
Follow the pattern to cover the whole breast. You can begging with nipple moving the larger and larger until you reach outer border of breast. Find any lump or swelling in breast with hand pressure according to tissue.

Step 5: - Finally, feel your breasts while you are standing or sitting. Many women find that the easiest way to feel their breasts is when their skin is wet and slippery, so they like to do this step in the shower. Cover your entire breast, using the same hand movements described in step 4.

If you find any abnormalities than consult your physician. Further investigation and treatment are according to stage of cancer. if you have any question do let me know in the comment and please follow my blog for health related topic in easy and simple way to understand.

MEASLES : CAUSES, SYMPTOMS AND TREATMENT

MEASLES

DEFINATION: - Measles is highly contagious acute respiratory viral disease with a characteristic clinical picture, rash and a pathognomonic enanthem KOPLIK’S SPOT

CAUSES:-

Measles is a highly contagious illness caused by a virus that replicates in the nose and throat of an infected child or adult. Then, when someone with measles coughs, sneezes or talks, infected droplets spray into the air, where other people can inhale them.
The infected droplets may also land on a surface, where they remain active and contagious for several hours. You can contract the virus by putting your fingers in your mouth or nose or rubbing your eyes after touching the infected surface.

SYMPTOMS:-

The sing and symptoms of measles are appear around 10 to 14 days  after exposure to measles virus
·        Fever
·        Dry cough
·        Runny nose
·        Sore throat
·        Inflamed eyes (conjunctivitis)
·        Tiny white spots with bluish-white centers on a red background found inside the mouth on the inner lining of the cheek — also called Koplik's spots( as seen in picture)

·        A skin rash made up of large, flat blotches that often flow into one another

RISK FACTOR INCLUDE:-

UNVACCINATED: - If you haven’t received vaccines than you’re much more like to develop a disease.
Traveling to internationally: - In developing country measles is common so if you travel to developing country than there is higher chance to catching the disease.
Vitamin A deficiency: - you are more likely to have more severed sing and symptoms if you don’t have enough vitamin A in your diet.

COMPLICATION:-

Ear Infection: - most common infection of measles is ear infection

Inflammation: - Measles may leads to inflammation of voice box(larynx)

Pneumonia: - Is common complication of measles that is some time fatal

Encephalitis: - encephalitis may occur right after measles. In about 1 into 1000 people may develop inflammation of brain.

Pregnancy problem: - If you're pregnant, you need to take special care to avoid measles because the disease can cause preterm labor, low birth weight and maternal death.

 PREVENTION: -

In 2011, 6.7 million did not receive measles vaccine in India. This could be the cause of measles outbreaks that leads to registered 29,339 measles case in India. But measles not restricted to children, adult too can develop measles.

VACCINATION:- Routine measles vaccination for children, combined mass immunisation campaigns in country with low routine coverage, are key public strategy to reduce global measles death.

MR Vaccination program by INDIA
India, along with ten other WHO South East Asia Region member countries, have resolved to eliminate measles and control rubella/congenital rubella syndrome (CRS) by 2020. In this direction, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has initiated measles-rubella (MR) vaccination campaign in the age group of 9 months to less than 15 years in a phased manner across the nation. The campaign aims to cover approximately 41 crore children.

The Measles-Rubella campaign is a part of global efforts to reduce illness and deaths due to measles and rubella/CRS in the country. Measles immunization directly contributes to the reduction of under-five child mortality, and in combination with rubella vaccine, it will control rubella and prevent CRS.

All children from 9 months to less than 15 years of age will be given a single shot of Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccination during the campaign. Following the campaign, MR vaccine will become a part of routine immunization and will replace measles vaccine, currently given at 9-12 months and 16-24 months of age of child.
For those children who have already received such vaccination, the campaign dose would provide additional boosting to them.

SUGAR : A SWEET POISON ?

               Sugar: A sweet poison ?

Human beings are naturally attracted to sweet things  i.e, your favorite cake, chocolate, fruit juice or any sweet substance that catches your fancy. As you already know that too much sugar is not good for your health..

Source of Sugar
Sugary drinks (fanta, coca cola), baked foods (cakes), dairy products (yoghurt, ice cream) are the main sources of sugar, even foods like bread, yam, rice, tomato sauce also have sugar in them making it very easy for have to have excess of sugar in our body.

So As short and sweet way how SUGAR can affect our body there are as below
1. Sugar affects your teeth; you probably thought your parents hated you when you were younger for telling you not to eat sweets, but they where right. Sweets, candy can rot your teeth this happens by bacteria eating remnant of sweet foods in your mouth thereby causing cavities and rots

2. Sugar affects your joints; if you have joint pain, here’s more reason to stop eating sweets, candy or sugary foods. Eating lots of sugar has been shown to worsen joint pain because of the inflammation they cause in the body, studies has also shown that sugar consumption can increase risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis.

3. Sugar affects your skin; this is another side effect of inflammation, it makes your skin age faster. Sugar attaches to proteins in your bloodstream and creates harmful molecules called “AGES” or advanced glycation end products. These molecules do exactly what they sound like they age the skin by damaging collagen and elastin fibres in your skin. Protein fibres that keep your skin firm and youthful. The result of this damage is wrinkles and saggy skin.

4.  Sugar affects your liver; an abundance of sugar may cause the liver to become resistant to insulin an important hormone that regulates blood sugar in the blood stream. This means your body won’t be able to control sugar level leading to diabetes.

5. Sugar affects the heart;  when you eat excess sugar the body tries regulating it by secreting insulin. Extra insulin in the blood stream can affect your arteries which is part of the circulatory system. Sugar causes the walls if the arteries to grow faster and get very tense which can add stress to the heart and damage it over time, this can lead to heart diseases, heart attacks ,strokes. Research also shows that eating less sugar can help lower blood pressure.

6. Sugar affects your kidney; if you have diabetes too much sugar can lead to kidney damage. The kidneys play an important role in filtering your blood sugar. Once blood sugar level reaches a certain amount, the kidney starts to let excess sugar into your urine. If left uncontrolled diabetes can damage your kidney which prevent them from doing there job in filtering waste in the blood. This can lead to kidney failure.

7. Eating sugar leads to addiction; like many abusive drugs, sugar causes a release of dopamine in the reward centre of the brain. The problem with sugar and many junk food is that they can cause massive dopamine release much more than we were ever exposed to from food found in nature. For this reason, people with susceptibility to addiction can become highly addicted to sugar and other junk foods. The ” everything in moderation ” message may be a bad idea for people who are addicted to junk food, because the only thing that works for true addiction is abstinence.

The monsoon health tips

hello
as you know in India monsoon will set there clouds all over the region so in rainy season as you know this is romantic season but beside that there is also  a lots of  decease are spread widely so there are some tips to stay healthy in India

The monsoon  in India is a refreshing time, as rain brings welcome respite from the grueling heat. However, staying healthy requires particular care to be taken.
The rain and water lying around makes it easy for mosquitoes to breed and increases the risk of mosquito transmitted infections, such as malaria and dengue fever. Viral infections are also common. In addition, the high humidity can contribute to numerous skin diseases and fungal infections.
Chronic skin conditions such as eczema, acne and psoriasis tend to worsen during the monsoon season. The climate is also ideal for fungus to thrive.

Tips for Staying Healthy During the Monsoon in India

  1. If you’re fond of street food, the rainy season isn’t the time to indulge. Pollution of water and raw vegetables is very common during the monsoon. You can easily fall ill from contaminants.
  2. Apply a strong insect repellent to keep mosquitoes away and prevent getting bitten. It's also a good idea to take anti-malarial drugs during this time of year, as malaria is at its most prevalent.
  3. Where possible, try to avoid walking through dirty water. Besides leptospirosis, it can lead to numerous fungal infections of the feet and nails.
  4. Also avoid walking where water is lying on the road, as traffic will drive by and spray it all over you.
  5. Dry your feet whenever they get wet. Don't continue to wear wet socks or wet shoes!
  6. If you get drenched in the rain, add three caps of disinfectant Betadine to a bath to avoid skin problems.
  7. Keep your skin clean by bathing twice a day. The humidity can cause a buildup of sweat and dirt, along with other toxins, on the surface of the skin.
  8. Avoid colds and coughs by keeping your body warm and dry
  9. Don’t enter air conditioned rooms with wet hair and damp clothes.
  10. Avoid wearing tight clothing or clothing made out of synthetic fabric. Stick to pure cotton or linen.
  11. Use anti-fungal talc to prevent accumulation of sweat and moisture in skin folds. If prone to fungal infections, use a medicated powder such as Mycoderm.
  12. If you suffer from asthma or diabetes, avoid staying anywhere with damp walls. It promotes the growth of fungus and can be especially harmful.
  13. Drink lots of warming herbal teas, especially those with antibacterial properties.
  14. Take Vitamin C to boost your immune system and help fight off infections.
  15. Children's skin is particularly vulnerable during the monsoon season. Impetigo is a contagious skin infection that causes red sores that can break open, ooze fluid, and develop a crust. The sores usually appear around the mount and nose. Scabies, from mites, is also common during the monsoon and produces itchy skin. It's important to visit a dermatologist to get these conditions treated before they spread.
